NFL Referees

Over the last few regular seasons and Superbowls, it has become apparent that the referees are pretty bad when it counts (especially when helping the Steelers' win). At this point you would think the NFL would do something about it.

The NFL is the most valuable sports organization in the nation. More valuable the MLB. Baseball has MLB employed umpires and an umpiring school for them to go through as well as minor leagues for them to umpire in first to rate them. MLB umpires do make mistakes occasionally still but not normally game changing mistakes, especially now with instant replay for home runs / foul balls. Of course, one play or pitch in baseball isn't as important as one football play either.

Things Are Looking Up

After watching the entire Patriots game today, I am seeing improvement in the offensive and defensive chemistry and overall team play. With Wes Welker inactive for this week as well, Brady managed to get things moving a little better than last week although he didn't face quite as aggressive of a blitz as he did against the Jets.

Loss Numer One

This week the Patriots' offense still looked rusty. Normally when under incredible duress, Brady throws slant routs to Welker. Of course, Welker wasn't in the game. Now I'm not saying that was the difference, but there were several times down field when the Patriots could have scored a touchdown instead of a field goal and that would have been the difference in the game.

Dirty Sanchez and the Jets Leave With a Win

The end of the fourth quarter was hard to swallow. Not only did the Patriots lose their first game of the season, I lost a 40 dollar bet to the most arrogant New York Jets fan there is.

Now I'm no football expert. But even the commentators agree that the loss was a combination of a rusty Tom Brady, Wes Welker absent during the game due to a knee injury and some rookie wide receivers that aren't exactly calibrated to Brady's throwing game just yet.

So what can we say about todays loss against the Jets?

Pats Escape With Their First Win

It's approaching the end of the third quarter and somber emotions on the fans faces begin to appear. Of course, Terrel Owens looks confident but so does Tom Brady. As the sold out stadium wait to see their team drive down the field reminiscent of 2007, the Bills score a touchdown leaving the Patriots trailing by 14.

Now here's where things turns funny..

Interesting Game 1

Throughout most of game one against the Bills, Brady and the offense looked slightly out of sync. It seems it took a hurry-up offense and being down two scores to make them get moving but I hope everything is figured out at this point.

Outlook for Tom Brady's 2009 Season

After a long recovery from knee surgery Tom Brady has been looking good again. Apart from the minor shoulder strain, everything has been going great and it looks like that injury is not going to affect anything for the regular season.

It's Show Time.. Brady Ready to Face Buffalo

Any New England fan will tell you that the wait for Tom Brady to finally get back on the field has been grueling. Last year, the Pat's enjoyed knowing they were up against an extremely easy lineup (the easiest schedule in the NFL). It wasn't too far fetched to think they can pull of another undefeated season victory.

Until the tragedy happened; Let's not jinx it and go into detail but, of course, you know Brady suffered a knee injury that left him in recovery mode for the past year yadi-yadi-yada. The question is, will he be at 100% come Monday night?
